These Pimple Patches Are Made For People Who Actually Want Their Pimples Gone
I must admit, it's that time of the month, and ya girl is having some breakouts–specifically, a pesky pimple on my cheek and a pimple on the jawline. When this starts happening, I depend on my worthy spot treatments. Though they work wonders, I would get red, irritated skin every time I used them. It's likely due to its harsh ingredients it contains, so I've been looking to change for to a cleaner and simpler product.
Throughout my search, I've come across a load of products that claim to "remove or reduce pimples," ranging from face masks to pimple stickers, but none caught my eye like Hero. Cosmetics Patches. They had raving reviews and boasted a 4.6-star rating! After combing their reviews, I was sold when a reviewer said, "pimple away in a day."
Once purchased, I wasn't sure what to expect from them, but the end outcome surprised me!
My First Impressions
Delivery of the package was quick and when opening it, I was greeted with a little surprise. It was a set of cute stickers! It was adorable and loved that the company included these unique freebies.
The patches are small yet big enough to cover your average-sized pimple. The set that I purchased included 36 patches, though there is a 72-count option. 36 patches were perfect for me; I only get pimples occasionally, so I didn’t need the bigger pack.
Did It Live Up To My Expectations?
First Time Wearing It
The patches were super easy to peel off. They have some stickiness to them but are easy to take on and off in case you misplace them (which I did a couple of times). Also, I wouldn't recommend lathering up your pimple with skin-care products before wearing the Patch to ensure it stays on all night. If you plan on wearing the Patch during the daytime, don't put any makeup on your pimples, or else the product might not work as great.
Adding the Hero. Mighty Patch to my skin routine was easier than expected. The instructions are located on the back of the package and were a breeze to follow. All I had to do was clean the pimple with a facial cleanser (I use The Deep Action Facial Cleanser by Beauty 360, which can be found at your local CVS).
I then washed my face, toned my skin (which isn't necessary, I simply like using toners), and then applied the Patch to my pimple. After, I simply applied my serum and moisturizer. Just like that, I was ready to take on my day.
Hero. Recommends leaving the Patch on for 6-8 hours. And since I don't want anyone seeing me with the Patch (though it is tiny) on during the daytime, I only wore it at night.
The first time I wore the Patch, I fell asleep like a baby. The Patch didn't bother or annoy me at all. It stayed on the whole night even though I often tossed and turned.
Waking up in the morning and peeling it off (which didn't hurt at all), I was greeted with a surprise… I wasn’t expecting any results to be honest, but the pimple on my jawline decreased in size. And the other pimple that was bigger and more irritated did too. Looking at the adhesive, it was filled with gunk it had taken from both my pimples. It kind of looked like a fogged mirror and it was nice to know that these patches were doing their job.
Second Time Wearing It
I did the same skin care routine I did previously. But this time, I wanted to try seeing how it handle during the day. Due to its small and clear design, it was unnoticeable when going out. The Patch felt like it had disappeared and became part of my skin. And when I started sweating it stayed on. When taking them off at night both pimples were tremendously smaller.
Third Time Wearing It
I wore it overnight again and followed the same routine as the first time and both the pimples were almost gone!
The overall results, shocked me! And I can understand why Hero. Mighty Patch was featured on Allure and multiple infamous publications. Within three short days, Hero. Patches decreased the size and redness of both pimples. My spotter and previous acne solutions would take a solid week before having results like this… Not to mention some of them cost more than $50 bucks! Hero. was half the cost and lasts just as long. I only used 6 patches during the 3 day test and have another 30 left.
So What's The Magic Behind the Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch?
I decided to dig down and find out how Mighty Patch can grant such results… It uses an ingredient called Hydrocolloid, a medical-grade dressing material that’s barely used in most pimple remover products due to the cost. They're breathable, biodegradable, and adhere to the skin without extra taping.
The dressing absorbs the gunk that comes out of your pimple, reducing inflammation and the overall size of your pimples/zits. It's not harsh at all and environmentally friendly too! Since there are no harsh chemicals, these patches are great for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
So is the Mighty Patch Worth It, And Is It For You?
The Mighty Patch is a good solution for individual spot treatments. I also love how these patches mask the redness of your pimples, which is great for days you need to go out but are too lazy to wear makeup (i.e. me).
If you have numerous pimples Hero. Cosmetics do have bigger acne patches and full-face patches for multiple acne breakouts. I enjoyed the Mighty Patch since it's affordable, effective, and simple. If you're having acne problems, I highly recommend grabbing a pair of Hero. Patches… Trust me, you won't regret it!
